Jobless Claims Rise 25k, Continuing Claims Decline
“All of those 'benefits' from the seasonal factor adjustments to U.S. initial claims over the past few weeks are in full reversal mode,†said Jennifer Lee from BMO Capital Markets just after the release. “The reversal, along with the reasons behind it, have been widely broadcast for a while now, so it does not come as any surprise, but it doesn't soften the blow of the headline.â€
Stocks Look Up Ahead of Jobless Claims
The S&P 500 has edged down over the past two days, but the loss has been slight enough that this morning’s pre-session trading is looking to erase the 0.72% loss with a 0.8% gain. rnrnThe expected climb at the opening is due to positive earnings reports this morning.
